The Core Work

AI Visibility Services

Being found by name is easy. Being chosen from a shortlist is the whole game.

Alignment Everywhere Optimization across every surface AI reads about your business.

Search used to hand people a page of links. Now it hands them an answer, and increasingly a short list of who to call. If your business is not legible to the systems building that list, you are not in the running, no matter how good you are.

What AI visibility actually is

It is how clearly and consistently AI systems can find, read and repeat accurate information about your business. It is not a ranking, because engines do not rank, they synthesize. The honest measure is how often you get cited out of how many asks, which is why every number we give you carries a denominator.

The six pillars

  • Foundation. Robots, sitemap, canonical tags and structured data. The plumbing that has to exist before anything else you do can count.
  • The Brief. Your site should state your trade, your typical scope, the municipalities you work in and the licence you hold, without a scavenger hunt.
  • Liftable Facts. Your most important facts should be easy to lift, summarize and attribute back to you.
  • The Paper Trail. Real proof, reviews, credentials and service detail, structured so a machine can verify them.
  • Sounds Like You. Structure should strengthen how you sound, not flatten it. Aligning to how AI reads is not the same as handing your voice to the bots.
  • Everywhere Else. The profiles, directories, articles and mentions you do not control. This is where most citations are decided.

Why the sixth pillar is the one people skip

In the measurements we run, a business's own website is routinely not the most cited source about it. LinkedIn and community forums frequently outrank it. That is not a flaw in the website, it is how engines work: they read the whole surface and weight third-party sources heavily, because those are harder to fake.

Any AI visibility service that only touches your website is doing a fraction of the job and charging you for all of it.

What we will not tell you

  • That we can guarantee a citation rate. Nobody can, and the ones who claim it have not measured a baseline
  • That there is a magic file or a schema trick. Google's own documentation says otherwise
  • That AI search traffic is cleanly separable in your analytics. It is not, and pretending it is makes the reporting fiction
  • That a single before and after check proves anything. Engines change their answer between runs, which is why repetition is the method

The four surfaces we read

Four upright glass panels, each holding one surface: a map pin for the Google Business Profile, a browser window for the website, radiating rings for the engines, and a node cluster for the surfaces you do not own.
Read separately, on their own terms, then checked against each other.

Why businesses get missed

Almost never because the work is bad. In the measurements we run, the same handful of causes come up again and again, and every one of them is fixable.

  • The site cannot be read. A robots file blocking the wrong path, a sitemap returning a 404 since the last redesign, canonicals still pointing at a staging domain. Invisible to every human who visits.
  • The important facts are in pictures. Service area in a header image, credentials in a PDF, the price list in a slider. A machine cannot infer what you did not write down.
  • The surfaces disagree. Three different service areas across three profiles. An engine reading that does not pick the best one, it becomes less certain about all of them.
  • There is nothing to verify. Claims with no evidence anywhere except your own marketing, and these systems weight sources they did not have to take your word for.
  • Nobody else mentions you. No directories, no association listings, no third-party coverage. Your own website is a minority of the input and it is doing all the work alone.

What the work actually includes

  • Measurement first, across four engines, with repetition, before anything is changed
  • Foundation repair: crawlability, structured data, canonicals, headings, internal linking
  • The brief made explicit: what you do, who for, where, in the words buyers use
  • Facts made liftable, so a machine can extract your services and area without interpreting a picture
  • Proof made verifiable somewhere other than your own site
  • Your Google Business Profile aligned to your website, in every detail
  • The surfaces you do not own corrected, starting with the ones already being quoted
  • Content built to be quoted rather than only to rank
  • A re-measure on the same method, so the before and after is a real comparison

What you walk away with

  • A measured baseline with denominators attached, not adjectives
  • The raw responses, kept rather than summarised, so anyone can check our reading of them
  • A 90 day roadmap sequenced by what is costing you the most work first
  • The structured data, the copy and the profile changes, all of it yours
  • A re-measure on the identical method at the end of it

Known by name is not the same as chosen off a list

Branded search confirms a business asked for by name. Recommendation search compares several businesses and scores them.
Passing the first is easy. The second is the one that decides whether the phone rings.

Who this is for

  • You already do good work and are not being named when someone asks for a business like yours
  • You have a website you are broadly happy with and suspect it is not the problem
  • You want to know where you stand before you spend anything on fixing it
  • You would rather be told your foundation is fine than sold a package you do not need

Who this is not for

  • You want a guaranteed citation rate. Nobody controls what a model samples, and anyone promising one is guessing
  • You want it done without measuring first, which is how agencies end up rebuilding pages that were already fine
  • You need leads this week. This compounds over months and paid traffic is the honest answer to that question
  • You do not want AI systems reading your business at all, which is a legitimate position and the opposite of this work

What is not included

  • A promise of rankings, citations, leads or revenue
  • Buying links, planted reviews, or anything else you would not want read back to you
  • Rewriting your pages for machines at the expense of the people reading them
  • Managing your paid campaigns, which is separate work and priced separately

How this differs from an SEO retainer

An honest SEO retainer and this work overlap substantially, and anyone telling you otherwise is protecting a price. The difference is what gets measured and how far the work reaches.

An SEO retainerThis work
Measures position on a results pageMeasures citation rate out of asks, per engine
Optimises the site you ownReads every surface, most of which you do not own
Reports rankings monthlyReports a rate with a denominator, then re-measures on the same method
Content written to rankContent written to be lifted and attributed
Success is a positionSuccess is being one of the names in the answer

How it runs, step by step

  1. A paid Discovery Call on the one area you already suspect
  2. An audit scoped to that area, or all of them, with the measurement run before we speak
  3. Findings delivered in full, sequenced by what is costing you the most work
  4. The implementation, done with you rather than handed to somebody else
  5. The identical measurement run again at 90 days, so the change is provable

Frequently Asked Questions

What does AI visibility actually mean for a contractor?

It is whether AI systems can find, understand and repeat accurate information about your business when a buyer asks them a question. For a construction company that usually means questions like who should I hire to build or remodel something in this city.

Is this just SEO with a new invoice?

SEO aims at a position on a page of links. AI visibility aims at being included in an answer the machine writes itself. Much of the underlying work overlaps, and we will tell you which line items are ordinary SEO. The genuinely different work is off-site corroboration and fact-level extractability.

What decides whether a machine quotes you?

They retrieve first, then write. Sources that are clearly described, easy to extract facts from, and corroborated by places you do not control get used more. Anything you say about yourself is the weakest evidence available, which is why third-party surfaces matter so much.

Can a three-crew outfit compete with a national brand here?

Yes, and often more easily than large ones. Answer engines are trying to satisfy a specific question, frequently a local one. A precise, well-described local contractor is a better answer than a national brand that does not clearly serve the area.

Why does every vendor use a different acronym?

Because the field is young and everybody wants to own the label. They describe overlapping work with different emphasis. Below are the ones you will hear, defined plainly, so a vendor cannot use vocabulary as a substitute for a method.

What is AEO?

Answer Engine Optimization. Structuring your information so it can be used in an answer rather than just ranked in a list. We use the same three letters for Alignment Everywhere Optimization, because the missing half of most AEO work is everything outside your website.

What is AIO?

AI Optimization, sometimes AI Overview Optimization. Usually it means shaping content for Google's AI Overviews specifically. Worth knowing that Google's own documentation says no special markup is required to be eligible.

What is GEO?

Generative Engine Optimization. Optimizing to be cited by generative engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. In practice it overlaps heavily with good SEO plus off-site presence, and controlled tests of aggressive body rewriting have come back worse rather than better.

What is LLMO?

Large Language Model Optimization. Aimed at how models represent your business, including from training data rather than live retrieval. It is the least controllable of these, because you cannot edit what a model already learned. You can only improve what it retrieves now.

What is ALLMO?

Advanced Large Language Model Optimization. A newer label for LLMO with more emphasis on entity clarity and structured data. Treat any vendor leaning hard on this acronym with the same question you should ask all of them: what is your denominator.

What is AISO?

AI Search Optimization. Broadly the same territory as AEO and GEO, framed around search behaviour rather than the engine. If someone charges differently for AISO and AEO, ask them to write down the difference.

So which one do you do?

All of the useful parts, and we will name the ones we think are oversold. The label matters far less than whether anyone measured your baseline before taking your money.

What is The Everywhere Audit?

Our $2,500 measured diagnostic. Twenty-five buyer queries, seven repetitions each, across four engines, with every citation URL kept so any number can be re-derived. Plus a foundation audit, a profile review and an off-site sweep. It applies in full to whichever Alignment package follows.
